Aside from being Singapore’s first carbon neutral electricity retailer, ES Power also believes in having a strong social mission – to light up the lives of the less privileged. We are always eager to support those who take action to do good for the community.
As part of this social mission, ES Power provides carbon neutral electricity to social organizations at the lowest prices possible. By means of the micro-philanthropy platform, we then actively foster a community of benefactors who then work together to help partially or fully fund the electricity bills of these organizations, allowing them to focus on what’s most important – doing good, so that they will worry less about their electricity expenses. This spans across the many different types of non-profit organizations focused on environmental and/or animal concerns, the disabled or elderly, children and youth, and many more.
As a benefactor, contributing any amount for any duration of time will benefit the selected organization directly. This provides an avenue for contributors to support the social organization, knowing exactly where their money is spent, allowing full accountability and transparency. Anyone from the public can contribute, even those who aren’t existing customers of ES Power. Benefactors have full autonomy to decide whether they want to give a one-time contribution or a recurring one, to whichever organization they choose.
Today, we have nearly 30 different premises on the platform including organizations like ACRES, Beyond Social Services, Jamiyah Singapore, Waterways Watch Society, just to name a few. While we aim to partner with more non-profit organisations over time, we are also looking to expand the list of beneficiaries to low-income or needy households once the Open Electricity Market is established for everyone in Singapore. As we believe in the idiom - “charity begins at home”.
